Streets for the People, Not Cars

  Minneapolis, MN

Tacos!!!!

Open Streets

Today we walked over to a nearby neighborhood to enjoy Open Streets.  During the summer Minneapolis closes down various streets on Sundays and invites people to use them the way we used to use streets, to walk, sell things, and meet up with our neighbors.  San Francisco does this very well and their Sunday Streets program is very popular.

Our walk there took us through the Walker Art Center Sculpture Garden.  This is Spoonbridge and Chery - Coosje van Bruggen, Claes Oldenburg

We went early and things were a little sparse

As we walked to the more main area there were more vendors and exhibitors.

Prince was from Minneapolis

Our Streets was here, an organization I can get behind.

Transit was there giving away swag.  I got a commemorative Pride transit card for my collection of transit cards.

Remembering George Floyd.  He was murdered by police here in Minneapolis.

After exploring Open Streets we explored a new brewery.  La Dona Cerveceria.

I got the Enmolada and then got the 2 barleywines to go.

When we got home we grabbed Francis and took him to a local dog park.

That was it for today.  If you missed Walker Art Center, check it out.
