The Dutch Pinball Museum

Today we did and all day pass at The Dutch Pinball Museum. All day passes are 30 Euro and are good from Noon to 5pm. There are also 2 hour passes that start at Noon and again at 3pm. This means from 2-3pm it's all day pass holders only. There is so much to see, if you love pinball, get the all day. Also it's only open Wednesday,  Saturday, and Sunday so plan accordingly. 

The museum is located in an historic area of Rotterdam that didn't get bombed in the war. It's a beautiful area, but all if Rotterdam is beautiful IMHO. 

You pay as you enter and the bottom floor is the museum so no touching, sadly. There are so many old machines just waiting to be played!

Therw was a case with weird dolls like this Ringmaster from Cirque Voltaire. 

They have original molds like this Amy mold from Congo. 

The lockers are even themed. The nice lady as the cafe lent us a 50 cent coin to use them. 

The rest of the floors have playable machines grouped together in ways that make sense like Rock Music, particular designer, Star Wars, games based in arcade machines, and other themes. 

This Twilight Zone section was cool. 

I had never played this one before. It was fun. 

I don't remember this particular back glass. 

Firsr time playing Mr. & Mrs. Pac-Man. It took me 2 trys to figure out the maze game in the middle. 

Q-Berts Quest was bonkers. 

The museum was decorated from floor to ceiling. It was going to be hard to capture it all so I spent most my time playing pinball. 

There was a Dutch Big Lebowski in its own room decorated perfectly. The sound was awesome and the shaker motor shook the whole room. It was pretty rad. 

We played the whole time and on the way out Donna returned the 50 cent piece we borrowed for the locker and the lady working the cafe who was the partner or wife if the owner said to Donna, "You must have had fun, I haven't seen you in the cafe". This led us to believe that some dudes grind away at pinball while their partners sit in the cafe bored. No proof of this, just speculating. 

On the way out I picked up a t-shirt to prove I was here.

Five Points Blues Festival

This morning we had our coffee and then rode a bus to the Five Points neighborhood in Denver.  In the first half of the 20th Century, Five Points was known as The Harlem of the West.  The Five PoinOnce we were in we walked around a bit while it was still empty and then headed to "The Other Side" venue to see The Electronik Hornz.  They are an ensemble band of brass players that use a Multi Track Looping Recorder like Reggie Watts to make a mixture of Jazz and Funk.

We stopped by Spangalang Brewing and had a not very great beer.

Dinner and a Movie

We only stayed at the Festival for a couple of hours because it was hot and crowded.  We tried to take a bus back but the schedule didn't line up so we took a Lyft.  After a power nap it was time for our next adventure.

We drove to the Ruby Hill Neighborhood and met Gene, Brandon, and Jonathan at Pho 96, one of their Pho hot spots.  It was Pho-nominal (see what I did there?).  After dinner we followed the gang to the "movie theater" to see tonight's movie, Christine!

We got there early so I could take good photos of their set up.

They also provided all the Red Snacks (Because Christine is Red)

Before people got there we got a tour of their amazing house.  They are both artists so their house is filled with art and it is fantastic!

They had amazing glassware

They had a cool bar and they turned their basement windows into dioramas

They were also into cars so they made this cool arrangement of license plates

When the movie started people settled in with their lawn chairs and we all had a great time commenting on the movie.  I had never seen it before and enjoyed it.  I even saw something that I found very interesting (see my analysis below).

Attendees bring things for the hosts.  Today they got a Colorado Pride Flag so they put it on the hot tub.
