2 Breweries with Pinball

 Broomfield, CO

Greetings from Colorado USA!

Windfall Brewing

This evening we drove north to Westminster, CO to visit with our friend Bob and play some pinball. We met at Windfall Brewing.  It's a fancy new brewery / pinball place that feels a lot like a Chili's.  I got a beer and we played some pinball.  It was an okay place but not our favorite type of place.  The machines were in great condition and they had a lot of Limited Edition Machines.

My beer was meh...

Sportsball and seating made this feel more like a restaurant than a brewery to us.

The machines were in great shape and were mostly Limited Editions with fancy toppers and everything.  Most of the machines were $1 a play but a couple were $1.50.  They were on the higher end of pricing that we have seen.

After dropping $20 in as many minutes and not finding a good place to sit and talk we decided to move on to another venue.  We settled on Wonderland Brewing in Broomfield, CO, about 15 minutes away.

Wonderland Brewing

We arrived at Wonderland and it already felt more comfortable.  Normal tables without waitstaff, a bar you ordered from, and a food window you ordered food from.  No fuss, just pinball, beer, mini-golf, basketball, pickleball, trivia night, and games.  It was a HUGE place and it was hopping but there was plenty of room to get away from the crowds. We ordered beers, and sat outside and caught up and then played some pinball.

I got to play on some new machines I had no idea how to play.  Oktoberfest, Hot Wheels, and Legends of Valhalla were all new for me. I need to read up on those because they are featured in future tournaments I will be attending.

That was it for today.  If you missed New Brewery and a Pinball Tournament, check it out.

New Brewery and A Pinball Tournament

Greenwood Village, CO

Prost Brewing

Today we went to Prost Brewing for lunch.  We can walk there, they allow dogs, they have great food, and they just won two Great American Beer Festival medals.

One of the many footbridges we get to walk across staying where we were staying in downtown Denver.

And another

1Up Greenwood Village Pinball Tournament

Later that evening I drove to 1Up Greenwood Village and met my friend Bob and played in a tournament.  It was his first tournament but he is no stranger to pinball.  He has a few machines in his basement.  It was a really fun tournament and I did well.  I also got to play with a friend and play with some of the top players in the world because they live here.

1Up Greenwood Village is a big arcade, bar and restaurant unlike 1Up LODO which is a 21 and over Arcade Bar.

I got to play the brand new Venom machine.

I was also excited to see Walt Wood playing in the tournament.  He is currently 37th in the world.

I won my first round on Skateball and then got paired with my friend Bob in round 2 on Medieval Madness and won that round.  It was bitter sweet but Bob was still in it and having fun.

Bob Rocking Medieval Madness

It was a pretty close, low scoring game.  We had time after the official game so we played another round and both got better scores.

I was feeling pretty good winning my first 2 rounds and then had a bad game on Fish Tales and got my first strike for losing.  You get 3 strikes and then you are out.  I was still feeling pretty good and then this happened.

Paired with Walt Wood!  Cool.  This will be a spectacular loss but it will be fun.

We actually got moved to Metallica because people were casually playing Venom.  I got my butt kicked but Walt was super nice and fun to play with.

I asked for a selfie and he was happy to oblige.  He went on to win the tournament.

It was a fun tournament and I played great.  I ended up tied for 5th.  We will see how this all plays out when I get my IFPA points but it was probably my best tournament yet and it was a lot of fun.

Tied for 5th!  I will probably end up 6th or 7th when it all plays out but still a great result.

That was it for today.  If you missed Downtown Arvada and A Craft Fair, check it out.

Downtown Arvada and A Craft Fair

 Arvada, CO

It's Fall!

Downtown Arvada for Brunch

This morning we drove to Arvada and picked up our friend Gene and headed to Downtown Arvada for brunch.  We could have taken the train from Downtown Denver to Downtown Arvada easily but we had some other stops to make so we drove.  We hope to do a train ride and visit a bar or two soon.  There is even pinball in Downtown Arvada.

Go Skating!

We put our name in at Bread Winners and then took a walk.

This bar looked pretty cool.  They were setting up for the CU game today.

Dinosaurs outside the toy shop.

As you get closer to the center (or centre for my Canadian readers) of Downtown, the streets are closed to traffic and painted colorfully (or colourfully for my Canadian readers) to invite you to walk out in "the street".

More signs of fall

We had to make sure the pastry shop wasn't a better choice than Bread Winners.  It's wasn't in our opinion.

We ate on the covered enclosed patio so dogs were allowed.  This little guy wanted a hand out.

Brunch was good.  After brunch we headed back to the car for our next 2 stops.

Getting Crafty

Our first stop was The Craft Box.  I didn't take any photos because it was small.  Donna and Gene both found some yarn they needed and then we headed to the craft fair.

The Craft Fair was in the parking lot of a college.

There were lots of venders selling their work.

Donna bought a nice pin from this artist.

Send it!

We spent the rest of the day back at the Airbnb hanging out with Francis.  If you missed The Colorado Pinball Pub, check it out.  We played pinball in Littleton, CO.
