Paramount Mountain

 Las Vegas, NV

"Live, Love, Laugh" - Spork

The Free Paramount Mountain Event

We have been taking the bus by The Mirage every few days and watching them turn the Mirage Volcano into The Paramount Mountain to advertise Paramount+ to the crowds that are coming to Las Vegas for the big sportball game.  We heard about this before getting here and had hoped it would open before the weekend so we could visit the Star Trek area.  It opened today and we were there today!

As usual, we started our adventure on The Deuce bus.  This time we got to sit up top in the front.

Paramount Mountain in all of its glory!

We had 1pm tickets and the fast track line was way out of the way and it took some walking to get to from what we thought was the front.

The Mirage Volcano will soon be a thing of the past, well at least the parts that are left.

We got wristbands for entry.

Paramount+ was promoting some of their more popular shows.

There were employees taking photos everywhere.

They sent in the cheer team to celebrate us finding the Fast Track entrance

There were games and free swag everywhere you looked.

We waited in line to take a photo with the UEFA Championship Trophy (Union of European Football Associations).

Donna tried to kick a football into small holes to score points.

We both scored zero points but most football teams don't score much more than that so I guess we did good.

This is what we came for!

This area wasn't just Star Trek.

Some Nickelodeon display and Donna showing off the football / soccer ball she won for kicking a ball.

Ron Burgundy's actual license plate.  Stay Classy!

We watched this movie on Paramount+ when someone forgot to log out at one of our Airbnb stays.  It was really funny.

Donna is the captain now!

I got my chance to sit in the chair when she went on an away mission with a few red shirts.  Wait, I'm in a red shirt!

This isn't Star Trek, this is Master Chief from Halo.

Me and Chief!

Donna asked the guy working the Halo area if he had seen Red Vs. Blue and he didn't know what she was talking about.  She explained to him what it was so hopefully he looks it up.

They had a Pluto.TV vending machine.  If you answered a few questions they gave you a clear backpack.  We figured we could use one since we go to sporting events sometimes that require one.  Donna used her "Live Long and Prosper" Foam Hand to block the sun.

The Foam hand really came in handy.  Ha!  See what I did there?

Next we went into The 1923 area.

You could dress up old timey and get your photo taken.

We put on Old Timey hats and got our picture made.  I traded my email address for this photo.

The South Park lady tells us what all we can win if we sign up for something.  We don't have room for a TV or the other stuff.

We went on down to South Park and met some friends of mine.

Many of the sportsball fans are already in town.

We waited in a long line for a customized beer coozie from Yellowstone, I think...

It was a long wait but now I have this!

The Horseshoe

After taking full advantage of Paramount Mountain and getting all of our Zero Dollars worth we walked across the strip and down a bit to see the "New" Horseshoe.  The "New" Horseshoe is the Old Bally's.  They wanted to move the World Series of Poker again (first from Binion's Horseshoe downtown to The Rio Hotel) so that it is more centrally located.  They are now holding it at The Horseshoe on the strip and Paris Casino.  2024 will be the 2nd year at the new location.

It's almost the same as the Bally's entrance.

This is the poker room in The Horseshoe.  I'm not currently playing poker (it's all about pinball right now) so I haven't searched the entire strip, but this is the biggest poker room I have seen on this trip.

After checking out The Horseshoe we took a Deuce (lol, that sounds dirty) and headed home.  That's it for today.  If you missed, Omega Mart, check it out.
