A Picnic in the Park

Ziegler Park

Today we celebrated a really nice day by having a picnic in Ziegler Park.  Ziegler Park is a park above a parking garage.  Our van is in that parking garage so we are somewhere above our car right now.  

We have been watching Bento Expo on NHK and decided to take our shot at making a bento box for us for lunch.  We also made tiny Manhattans because you are allowed to have alcohol in the park here.

Francis couldn't wait for us to set up before he plopped himself down.

He also wanted the lunch opened.

Here is our "Bento" box.  It was delicious.

Our Bento Box was an El Pollo Loco container we got over a year ago on our first day in LA.  I blogged about it here.  It has served us very well and will continue to serve us.  It is perfect for road trip sandwiches.
