San Antonio Day Trip

 San Antonio, TX

It was cold and windy.  Check out my hoodie string!

Back to Riverwalk

Back in the days of business trips I took a trip to San Antonio TX to attend SIGGRAPH.  It was at the San Antonio Convention Center so we stayed in a hotel right on Riverwalk and it impressed me.  It was a really vibrant walkable area and after visiting I wanted to bring Donna back.  It only took like 19 years.  The drive from Austin is about 1h15 mins straight down I-35.  After driving by The Alamo we found parking right downtown.  The plan was to get breakfast and then take the Riverwalk to The San Antonio Museum of Art.  We ended up executing that plan perfectly and even got to hit a brewery and walk around The Alamo.

We saw an Egyptian Goose

The San Antonio Museum of Art is in the old Lone Star Brewery

We got to see another Frank Stella.  Double Scramble - Frank Stella

Potrero Hill - Wayne Thaebaud

David Lyon - Kehinde Wiley (we have seen his work in Fort Worth, TX and Belleview, WA as well)

Dressed Descending Staircase - Jon Sieker

Joint Effort - Jose Dávila

The Bricklayer - Diego Rivera

A Tree of Death

A Tree of Life

The old Brewing Logo on the outside of the building

I liked this shirt but not enough to buy it

My Chili Stout was very good

This guy looked like he was lost

It was a fun short road trip and we got 4 other counties.  If you missed yesterday's post you can find it here.
