Ferrets in the Pet Store

 North Kansas City, MO

PetCo Visit

We didn't do a whole lot of blogworthy things today.  We did important things like book our night stays between NOLA and Disney World which was tricky because we have to stay near MCO to pick up people at 6am and there are few campsites near MCO and amazingly most of the few were fully booked for the date we were looking at in January.  And we went out and bought Francis his food.  We drove to North Kansas City (a different city than Kansas City) and stopped by the local PetCo.  It was the closest PetCo and the smaller pet stores that are closer to us didn't carry the food that he eats.  He is a picky eater so we try to keep things consistent for him.  He likes his routine.

As we were walking out we stopped to watch the Pet Ferrets play.  Ferrets are legal to own as pets here in Missouri as well as in our previous state of Washington but not in the state we grew up in, California.  That's one of the fun things about traveling, things are different in different places.  I decided to do some research about Ferrets, but first, you can see some photos and watch a gif of the frolicking ferrets.

There were 2 frolickers and 2 sleepers.

If you are going to get a ferret get the PetCo pals reward card, you will save $40.  Wow!  $350 for a pet Ferret and I don't think I could buy just 1 if I were choosing to get a pet ferret.

Ferret Legality in the US
- There are only 2 states where ferrets are completely illegal; Hawaii and California (you can get a film license if you have a ferret for film or TV).  They are also banned in D.C. but that isn't a state.
- Missouri is one of the 18 states where there are no regulations regarding ferrets.
- Washington is one of  30 states where ferrets are legal but there are regulations.

Ferrets are straight up illegal in many other countries for various reasons.

That's as deep as I wanted to get.  I mostly just wanted to post a few photos of ferrets.  Ferrets are very cute but not a pet that I want to have or want others to have unless they are pet rescues.

If you missed yesterday's post you can see it here.
