Denver Botanic Gardens

 Denver, CO

It only took us 24 shots to get this one!

Using our Botanic Garden Reciprocal Pass

This morning we had our coffee and then decided to use our Botanic Reciprocal Pass we bought at Descanso Gardens to get into the Denver Botanic Gardens.  We looked at bus trips and decided to walk instead.  It's 1.8 miles and walking is only a few minutes slower because you have to transfer busses.

The walk was nice.  We walked through neighborhoods and pointed out houses we liked and looked at birds.

Getting into the botanic gardens was easy.  We showed them our digital pass and they gave us a receipt saying we paid $30 and got a $30 credit.  Nice!

The Denver Botanic Gardens is REALLY nice.  They have a museum attached with 3 rooms, multiple places to get food and drink, and multiple buildings you can go into.  We really liked our time there and will probably go back.

First we used the restrooms and I liked the inside of this building

Then we got coffee at the café.  Our coffee this morning was a little weak for a big day like today.

Me posing in the café.

The 3 rooms of the museum featured work by Ursula von Rydingsvard.  She mostly works with wood.

The Garden features an amphitheater where they have music sometimes

We like this building.  It reminded us of EPCOT

Selfie time!

This Woodland Mosaic Solarium was one of 7 ordered by Euro Disney and then cancelled.  It sat at the factory for 20 years and then donated to the Denver Botanic Gardens.

This giant Travelers Palm is 20+ feet tall!  It was impressive!

The Lunch Special at Historians Ale House

We walked back to the Broadway area in our neighborhood and after 5 miles it was time for some food.  Donna found this lunch special while she was researching the area when we were booking the Airbnb months ago and wanted to go.  It features a burger, fries, and a 10oz beer for less than $8!  What a deal!

Pre Food Coma

After lunch we walked home and took a nap.  The 5 mile walk and a burger put us down.  We are really enjoying Denver and we have so much more to do here!

Yesterday we went to a Rockies day game.  Read all about it here.
