It's nearing the end of our 3 month trip and we are pretty exhausted. We have a ferry ride to Tallinn Estonia today and then 2 nights in Estonia until we fly back to Chicago and take a train home. Here are my favorite photos that we took during our week in Helsinki.
I got the VR Rail owl to sit on my arm for a bit.
The Helsinki Symphony was awesome
This Transit Stop was decorated with real flowers in a vertical garden.
Our friend joined us for this leg of the trip and we had a great time.
We have had some amazingly delicious food court meals here. Nothing like mall food courts in the US.
The early 80s subway trains are awesome looking.
The museum has a prefab
Futuro house.
Whatch your head and your step.
The museum also had cool textiles. That part was like a really nice IKEA.
There was a crazy mirror room that you could walk around in.
The center section was color changing.
I saw this wacky hat Donna refused to buy and wear.
I saw this wacky outfit I refused to buy and wear.
The hotel we are staying in is a converted prison.
The group isolation room was crazy.
This is where the meals were served.
This was my room whenever I was annoying to be around.
Donna had to take a close look at the toilet to ensure there wasn't any prison wine.
Absolutly not a Miami Vice beer.
The Olympic Stadium has an observation tower you can go to the top of.
You could also go into the stadium.
Here is more of that awesome early 80s subway. This was at the transit museum.
We went to a touristy but delicious restaurant that locals go to as well.
We rode the ferry to another fortress on an island.
A Eurasian Oyster Catcher and babies!
And that's a wrap on Helsinki and Finland! We would come back. Helsinki is awesome!!!
