Exploring a New Casino

 Las Vegas, NV

No!  This isn't the New Casino mentioned in the title.

Fontainebleau Casino

Today we walked over to the newest casino in Vegas, The Fontainebleau Casino across the street from Circus Circus.  A few years ago it seemed like Circus Circus was out on Las Vegas Blvd. by itself but then Resorts World opened and now Fontainebleau has opened and this areas is filling up.  There is a giant plot next to The Fontainebleau that looks like it's being graded and leveled for a new build.

You can see The Fontainebleau looming over the empty lot I was talking about above.

Their bowtie logo is everywhere throughout the casino.

These giant slot machines will help pay for the $3.7 Billion price tag.  That is the total cost but the property changed hands during its build between 2007 and 2023.

The Bleu Bar in the center of the casino is really pretty.

This is an art installation called Oceans by Breakfast (Breakfast is the artist's name).

It's a series of marble and mirrored blocks that flip and create a cool wave look.

The installation is interactive.

I remember when people in SF were outraged by $4 Avocado Toast.  Are they 4.5X more outraged now?

The 2nd floor features a food court.

There are some nice seats where you can look down on the casino floor.

The Fontainebleau was cool but not $3.7 Billion cool.  The casino floor seemed kind of small to me but we may have missed a wing while we were walking around.  They did have a lot of good looking restaurants and maybe the $18 Avocado Toast will help pay the mortgage.

Resorts World

After our visit to The Fontainebleau we walked across the street and over to Resorts World.  This is another recent casino that has opened up in this area.  We have been here before but we were in the area so we thought we would swing by.

Slots A Fun has been here since I have been coming to Vegas and it still looks the same.

This is Beetle Sphere - Ichwan Noor.  It's a VW Beetle smashed into a sphere.

Some company has updated the old school mechanical horse racing game and made it modern.  Not as cool but still cool.

Resorts World has some cool looking bars that aren't open at 2pm on a Sunday.

Feed The Soul - Matthew Laurence Knott

Resorts World kind of re-introduced Vegas to a  new style of food court eatery and now they are popping up everywhere.  There are food stalls by famous chefs and celebrities and you order from kiosks throughout the area so you don't end up waiting in line at a single stall.

Stardust Sculpture - Kevin Berry Fine Arts

One of the restaurants had a giant beer pong set up where you played with basketballs.  The bros loved it!

Resorts World hosts The Vegas Loop and this time it was open so we checked it out in all of its glorious stupidity.

The Vegas Loop is the public transit disrupting transportation system dreamed up by wealthy idiot and con man Elon Musk.

If you take all of the great elements of a subway and replace all of those great elements with the crappy elements of individual cars on a freeway you get The Vegas Loop!

Elon conned Vegas into allowing him to build and bore a tunnel from Resorts World to The Convention Center

And then coned them to buy a bunch of Teslas to fill it up.  We had just ridden in a driverless taxi driving on normal roads in the Phoenix area and now we are seeing Teslas being driven by a person in a single lane tunnel carrying 1 to 2 people at a time.

This is the dumbest transportation system I have ever seen.

Donna read about the World of Concrete conference.  Sounds like a great time!

That's it for today.  If you missed Silver Stamp with a Disney Friend, check it out.
