There's A New Mexico!

 Albuquerque, NM

Day 1 and we are cooking with Chilis

A Month In New Mexico

Since last we talked, Donna I drove to Los Alamos to get Los Alamos County and then spent the night in White Rock at a hotel.  Our drive from White Rock to Albuquerque took us through a few new counties because we took the scenic route (and it was very scenic). Now we are getting settled in our cute Airbnb in Albuquerque.   The weather is perfect and we have a backyard that Francis likes.

This is what repacking the van looks like at a hotel.  We need to keep our van clean so we don't look homeless.

The rest stops in New Mexico, at least the ones we saw, were minimal.

But they had cute picnic areas

This is our home for this month.  It's cute and comfy.

When we arrived we had an old school Airbnb check in with the owner walking us around the place and handing us the keys.  We haven't had this type of thing since before we left on this trip.  People do prefer contactless check in these days.

The night we arrived we stopped by the local Mexican grocery store and got ingredients to make Calabacitas.  We bought 3 pounds of roasted hatch chilis so we can make even more local recipes.

That's it for today.  If you missed Road Tripping Colorado check it out.  Our southwest adventure starts now!
