3 Weeks on the Road is A Bit Too Much

 Baton Rouge, LA

State #38 Together just before a massive downpour!

Arriving at Our Airbnb

We rolled into Baton Rouge last night just before the LSU vs. Alabama football game.  We are about a mile from the stadium and it was complete chaos getting to our Airbnb.  People were trying to wave us into $20 parking down every alley.  They didn't know that we weren't here for the game.  When we found our Airbnb (which is in a condo complex) it was packed with parked cars.  You could barely drive down the street.  Donna looked at the check in instructions and it said to pull around back so we carefully navigated down the narrow alley and made the tight turn between cars and there was one parallel spot.  I am not confident it was waiting for us but it was there so we took it.  While we unpacked the van I helped a guy back out of the parking lot.  It was so tight with cars.  The good news is this morning we are back to normal.  All we need to do is get settled.  It could have been way worse.

This morning I spent a few hours catching up on budget stuff, paying bills, and other life things that needed to get done and now it is time to reflect on the trip, log all of the fun stuff that I log, and explore Baton Rouge!

Summing Up the Last Three Weeks

On 10/16 we moved out of our Baltimore Airbnb.  It seems like ages ago now.  We usually camp and hotel for about 2 weeks but this time it was 3 weeks.  It was a bit much.  We had record low temps the first few nights and then we had mid 80s the rest of the days.  Weather wise it was pretty good.  Our trip took us through Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana.  We spent the night in a hotel in Savana GA and St. Petersburg FL.  The rest was camping.  We had some really great campsites and some that were just okay.  It's really hard to tell what you are getting when booking online.

All in all we camped in Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida (many times).

We stopped by a Brewery in Mississippi

We took a selfie at Ponce de Leon State Park in Florida

Our campsite at Ochlocknee River State Park was beautiful

We are at 691 counties now.  We should hit 700 this year.

That's it for today.  If you missed yesterday's post you can find it here.
