Tiki-Ti

 Los Angeles, CA

Tiki Time!

One of the lists we keep is Tiki Bars we have visited together.  We try to find one wherever we travel and it's a goal of ours to visit one in every state.  Tiki-Ti is our 33rd Tiki Bar together and we have been to Tiki Bars in 9 States and Provinces across 2 countries.

We took the bus from our Airbnb.  Tiki-Ti is on Sunset Blvd., which also happens to be Historic Route 66.  The bus dropped us off about a block away.  We wanted to arrive 20 minutes before opening so we could ensure we got a seat at the bar but the bus schedule put us there about 30 minutes before opening.  There was one person waiting in front of us.  The person waiting was a regular.  She was sitting on the wall outside the bar and reading her book quietly.  About 20 minutes before opening, patrons started pulling up and getting in line.  A few of them said hi to Lady #1.

Tiki-Ti opened its doors right at 4pm and we all showed our ID and Vaccination cards on the way in. Donna chose the last 2 seats at the end of the bar.  Greg, our bartender, jumped on our order and drinks were in front of us quickly.  Donna and I each ordered 2 drinks during our time there.  Donna got the Navy Grog and the Ray's Mistake while I got the Scorpion and Jim's Special.

I dressed up for the occasion too.  We chose to bring our Tiki clothes because we plan on visiting a few Tiki Bars on our trip

The opening hustle begins.  Everyone in line wants a drink NOW NOW NOW and the bartenders get busy

During our time, Greg asked if it was our first time at Tiki-Ti and we said yes.  He asked where we were from and I my new answer for this questions is, "The short story is Seattle, but there is a long story if you are interested".  He nodded and served up another drink and then came back and said, "now I need to hear the long story".  I told him of our plans as best I could while he served up drinks to the bar.  He was very interested and said it sounded like a great plan.  He said he likes Denver a lot.

When we were done with our drinks, we cashed out and said goodbye and thank you.  Our next stop was picking up Filipino dinner on the way home!

We ordered dinner from Chibogs and took it home.

We got a Tofu Egg Plant meal and a Pork Belly meal with a side of rice.  It was fantastic

Francis liked the Pork Belly very much

We spent the rest of the evening in watching the new Star Trek Strange New Worlds, and Star Trek Piccard on Paramount+.  It's great having all of these free channels to catch up on our stories.
