Incredible Art at The Institute

 Chicago, IL

Transit Station Selfie!

Back to the Art Institute

Today we headed back to The Art Institute for their member hour.  We paid for a year membership so we are going to try to squeeze as much out of it as we can in a month.  It's really great to have the whole museum to yourself for an hour (if you choose the right areas).  Our adventure began with an adventure as it always does when you ride transit.

The California Station has a heating area for those cold winter days.

We rode up front so we could see out the driver's window (the driver actually sits on the right side).

After our train ride we made our way into the museum and started in the Impressionist area.

Man with Pipe - Pablo Picasso

Reminiscence of a Cathedral - Frantisek Kupka

After getting our fill of art for the day we made our way up to the Members Lounge, again to get full value.  We sat and had coffee and talked about our time in Chicago so far.

Coffee with Spoon and Empty Sugar Packet - Jon Sieker

I chose not to look at the camera and it turned out interesting.

We exited through the gift shop and each of the BIG POPULAR paintings had a display like this.

After the museum we walked around downtown a bit checking out the River Walk and crossing the river a few times on bridges.  Chicago is great.

Someone put the Bent in Benton Place.

This sign was on our walk from the train very close to our Airbnb.

It is, indeed, a strange dog.

That was it for today.  If you missed More Chicago Fun, check it out.
